Nora has now been pressure tested. 100m (11 bar). No leaks, no problems. Didn't bother testing her any deeper (Nov 11).

Making a very rough guess, we are now approx. 1/2 of the way through getting Nora webpages fully up and running. More information on the way. Please bear with us, we are on a steep learning curve with web page design, and please note that 'under construction' means exactly thatThanks. (2nd Oct 11)

The new Little Monkey caving lamp, the Rude Nora, was released at Hidden Earth 2011, representing a new generation of more versatile, low input voltage high end caving lamps (operating from proprietry 3.7v li-ion battery packs, and compatible with AA batteries).

Little Monkey have been designing and manufacturing high specification caving lamps since 2006, featuring the latest, most efficient and brightest LEDs available. Because of the available technology at the time, both the original Little Monkey and sister lamp the Hurricane, operated from high voltage 7.4v li-ion packs (1st generation technology). Consequently, these lamps have now been discontinued, replaced with the Rude Nora.

Latest on Rude Nora

(Monday 26th September 2011)

Just arrived back from a fab weekend at Hidden Earth, and along with several hundred other cavers, am nursing a slightly sore head. Although it's not the first time we have had a trade stand at HE, we weren't 100% comfortable with the prospect of attending as manufacturers (and probably never will be), but as it turned out, we had a fab time and it was great to catch up with lots of mates that you don't see every week. Thanks to Dave, Laura and Lou for helping out on the stand.

Right, Rude Nora. We realise that a few folk have been waiting patiently for a look at Nora, and we will be getting as much information up as quickly as possible. We've put a little photo tour of the Nora up with some basic info, and we will follow this up with everything else you might want to know. This will no doubt evolve over the next few weeks, as there is an awful lot of information to get up on the site and structured in a sensible way, so please bear with us.

One other thing. You should really have a look at this cave photo AV by Rob Eavis (with friends).

ShAFF 2011 Arcteryx Adventure Shot Entry - Rob Eavis

It's absolutely mind blowing. A stunning piece of work. I understand that Rob put it together with over a 1000 still shots, many with exposure times up to 5 minutes and it was all done in the camera (no computer trickery).
