Nora has now been pressure tested. Two tests were carried out in a hydraulic pressure tank on the lamp and battery box. 50m (6 bar) for 1 hour, and then at 100m (11 bar) for 1/2 hour (it then started to rain, so the testers strategically decided that they had better things that they could be doing). No leaks, no problems. Our thanks to the testers.

This is of course a test result on a single random lamp, provided for information only. Interpret this as you will, but note that it is by no means some sort of Guarantee. Although not exactly unexpected, we are of course satisfied with the result. The Nora was designed with the single objective of providing a level of performance far beyond anything else available. Arguably the nearest comparable product, resisted close to scarcely 20m in manufacutrer testing (and only when the maximum tightness was achieved by careful maintenance (cleaning) of all seals and the use of very viscous seal grease from a dive shop).

Many thanks to the active cave divers who have purchased lamps and provided real world application feedback (no issues to date), in particular Dave Ryall who purchased a Nora to undertake (amongst his other projects / caving activities) a research, diving and filming project in Boreham Cave. Boreham is a fabulously decorated cave to which access has not been feasible for around 30 years. Dave and team recently gained access for hydrology, biology and geology research, and are also making a film about the cave.

Obviously Nora survived diving the 500m (each way) of gnarly sumps (albeit no great depth involved) in perfect condition. Thanks to Dave for permission to use the following photo.
